Welcome

It was Franklin Roosevelt’s second term when the Greenhaven Yacht Club was founded
in 1939, and many of our earliest members served admirably in the war to come.

In the happier years that followed, GYC members competed in many local, national and international regattas, including– the 30 foot Etchells, 210, 110, Shields, Rhodes 18, Rhodes 19, Soling, Sunfish, and Dyer Dow Frostbite Fleet.

The Greenhaven Yacht Club is a member of the Yacht Racing Association of Long Island Sound,
and we extend a cordial invitation to all members of the Greenhaven Rye Association to join us.

Today, the GYC boasts a diverse and vibrant international membership that shares
a common principle—a deep and abiding respect for the water and the wind.

Our members are proud supporters of the US Sailing Association and
the Herreshoff Museum/America’s Cup Hall of Fame
